Neisseria meningitidis is a Gram-negative bacterium that can cause meningitis and other forms of meningococcal diseases such as meningococcemia, a life-threatening sepsis. Neisseria meningitidis is thus responsible for considerable mortality all over the world. Most disease-causing Neisseira meningitidis strains belong to serogroups B and C in Europe, North & South America and Australia. It initially produces general symptoms like fatigue, fever, and headache and can rapidly progress to neck stiffness, coma and death in 10% of cases.

M-DiaSeroTM is a trusted and easy-to-use molecular diagnostic CE-IVD kit designed to qualitatively detect Neisseria meningitidis and serogroups A, B, C, W135 & Y in biological samples (cerebrospinal fluid or whole blood) collected from potentially infected patients using real-time PCR.
